What is sustainable feedstock?
Sustainable feedstock refers to the raw materials or ingredients used in the production of animal feed, which are produced in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. Sustainable feedstock can be sourced from crops and other vegetation that are grown using sustainable agricultural practices, such as conservation tillage, crop rotation, and the use of natural fertilizers.
In addition, sustainable feedstock can be sourced from by-products of the food and agriculture industries, such as distillers grains and soybean meal, which are produced from the processing of crops for human consumption. The use of sustainable feedstock helps to reduce the environmental impact of animal agriculture, while also promoting economic and social sustainability.
